Temple Marriage....and DRESSES!

While we all know there is more to a wedding than a dress - the dress is fun! We are so grateful that some very generous ladies in our area let us borrow their wedding dresses for this activity!

We cannot wait to see them all in their REAL wedding dresses in the right time, the right place and with the right man!

Patriarchal Blessings: Tribes of Israel

Today's lesson in Young Women's is about Patriarchal Blessings. In my preparations, I have come across many interesting things about the Tribes of Israel.

 https://www.lds.org/liahona/2004/03/about-patriarchal-blessings?lang=eng Tells us a lot of general info about Patriarchal Blessings. All the mechanics, from what to wear to the promises being fulfilled.

It explained how the Lost Tribes aren't really all that lost physically. (Though they are displaced from their lands of inheritance.)

And this article was super technical but very interesting. I am going to go back and read it more closely another time. http://maxwellinstitute.byu.edu/publications/review/?vol=18&num=1&id=602  I think the gist of it was that the Lost Tribes' blood was all mixed in to the populations of the world, including the Lamanites.

Our lesson Sunday was on scripture study. We had some great dicusscussion on how scripture study was like a two edge sword, a compass, and a light. Since we didn't have time to watch the video, the-book-of-mormon-messages-from-heaven, we made it our challenge for thos week. Hope everyone enjoys the vodeo!
